A personal note

I apologize in advance for the personal nature of this post. There might be my family surfing over to visit. I haven't been exactly on the best of terms with my sisters since the 2004 election. Thankfully I made a breakthrough with one of them tonight.

Hope you enjoy the site.

Congratulations. Getting through to your own family can be especially hard, because they know you from diapers and often don't give your opinion the weight of strangers seen on TV. Strange, but true. The "not invented here" syndrome strikes again.

On other fronts, is anyone else finding it impossible to get into dkos?

Still DNS problems

Guys, thanks to extraordinarily bad service from GoDaddy.com, my
domain registrar, the situation wasn't resolved today. They've
promised to take care of it first thing Wednesday morning.
That means the site will be zoning out for more and more of you
over the next few hours. By tomorrow morning, no one should have access to the site. I don't know what's going on yet, but we'll
be back up as soon as I figure out what happened, and what needs
to be done to fix it.
Update: If the site dies on you, you can still view it at:
69.9.161.200

Sgilman’s solution:

You can bypass DNS by adding the following line to your Hosts
file:
69.9.161.200 ww.dailykos.com
Do a search for hosts, open with notepad, go to the end of the
last line, hit enter and paste the line above. Make sure the
file is saved as hosts only not hosts.txt or hosts.sam

This will let you use dKos normally until the DNS issue is
resolved.

Thanks for the help. My apologies for hijacking the thread.

Gee, so GoDaddy.com isn't the most professional organization. Who would have thought, when their spokesperson obviously had such large... brains.
